Performer & Educator
As a performer and educator, I am continually in awe of how music facilitates community, bringing people of different languages and cultures together. Music develops servant-leaders who communicate heart-felt messages to their community. These two things, strong compassionate leadership and loving, learning communities, are what I am passionate about. When I teach or perform, my goals are not to fashion successful musicians or build a fan base. My goal is to teach people how to really see the needs of others around them and cultivate hearts that overflow into love in action.
In my private studios and classrooms, my students will learn skills necessary for leading a multi-cultural world by:
- learning fundamental music history and theory,
- broadening perspectives by connecting historical events to music
- developing and refining their artistry to communicate a message,
- exploring options to address physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social needs through music therapy, composition, and performance
